Summary: The bulk of the collection is one typewritten manuscript entitled "Reminiscences from the Life of John Rope: "Old Timer" of the White Mountain Apaches" as told to Grenville Goodwin. The manuscript (1935) describes John Rope who was born around 1855. The manuscript primarily covers his experiences as a scout for the U.S. Government and his boyhood with the White Mountain Apaches in the San Carlos area describing Apache customs and lifestyle.
